Wed., Nov. 20, 2024

Trump wants to get rid of the Department of Education. Here’s why that is good!

Our professors of education are like a vast tumor growing over American culture. They skillfully encourage dumbing down. They must believe they are stronger if the people are weak. Isn't that a shameful thought?

So let's return power to the states, and everybody stand by for opportunities to make their schools better. Happy days.

Let's Fix Education explains to Americans why their schools are so bad. The people in charge prefer mediocrity because they are socialists of one kind or another. If people work together to promote real education, we'll have it.

The Scariest Shift Is The Growing Indifference To TRUTH.

It used to be that scholars collected data, evidence, facts, and tried thereby to generate Truth. But in a socialist-collectivist world, the emphasis is on controlling the outcome through propaganda and coercion (as for example in the Soviet Union).

Who needs facts or evidence when you can simply state a philosophically-derived truth, much like the theory of acquired characteristics, where if you cut off the tails of mice, after a few generations, you would have tail-less mice!

(Note: Lysenko’s quackery was official Russian doctrine under Stalin for more than 30 years. Wikipedia summarizes: "More than 3,000 mainstream biologists were dismissed or imprisoned, and numerous scientists were executed in the Soviet campaign to suppress mainstream scientific opinion.”)

It used to be you learned facts, and you learned them one way or another. Memorization is now scorned even of the most essential information, such as the multiplication tables. All of this may sound trivial, but it's really a huge and ruinous decline.

Genuine testing is scorned. Cheating is tolerated as almost normal. Uneducated people think they know enough.

The average American brain will be more and more sloppy.  We can't turn this around unless the public has a revulsion to the decadence of low expectations.

For the bureaucrats running the schools, all that matters is that kids are pushed through to graduation. If they can cut and paste an essay, that's enough.

So now in the middle of this mess, we have AI, which allows completely ignorant people to generate sophisticated articles, etc. We really need a revolution back toward truth and honesty. We need an honor code in every school. The leaders at the top must want this change and work toward it. Otherwise, we will get dumber and dumber.

So why are we having these problems? The social engineers who enforce a socialist/communist mentality think they are stronger if the masses are weaker. Can you think of any other reason why the schools are intentionally dumbed down?

This is not a new thought, John Dewey started the ball rolling in 1899 in his book School and Society: "the mere absorbing of facts and truth is so exclusively individual an affair that it tends very naturally to pass into selfishness. There is no obvious social motive for the requirement of learning, there is no clear social gain in success thereat…"

So you see the Education Establishment has pursued this nihilistic goal for 125 years and it's killing us.

And you can understand Trump's proposal to eliminate the Department of Education because we have to start hacking back to the more intelligent past. The Education Establishment will try to create support by scaring everybody. I say, embrace Trump’s proposal because it is trying to wipe out a century of educational malpractice.

What happens when you are no longer concerned with mere facts and truths?

That is, with reality? Rick Wilson is in charge of the notorious Lincoln Project and made these predictions on election day: "Trump will lose. He will lose badly. He's gonna be wrecked. It's gonna be bad for him… It's a campaign in free-fall.”

Wilson, like so many on the Left, can no longer discuss reality and truth. But they want to impose their shortsightedness on everyone else.

We need a flip. Schools start pursuing knowledge again. People worry about whether something is true or false. All levels of American education are wrapped in shame. Meanwhile, all around the world countries and citizens are doing things correctly. Let's learn from them now.

Eliminating the Education Department will open things up. Everybody should be looking for opportunities for reform.
