Basically all education, in all times and places, can be described as incremental mastery. You learn a little today and then a little more tomorrow and then still a little more the next day. Just as if you want to build a high brick wall, you start with one row of bricks.

Nowadays, the normal instinctive way to do things is avoided. Somehow the kids are led through the backyard and down the street and around through the garage. Yes, they're confused. That seems to be the essence of how you keep children ignorant, and slow.

Let's Fix Education explains to Americans why their schools are so bad. The people in charge prefer mediocrity because they are socialists of one kind or another. If people work together to promote real education, we'll have it.

Public Schools gone to hell?? Who you gonna call??

It's an emergency and a scandal. Should you call the Education Establishment? The ghosts and ghouls now dumbing down the schools?? My suspicion is that a lot of highly educated people make good money doing bad deeds. I doubt we could trust them.

Maybe you should call America's Education Expert. Yes, that’s a better idea.

Admittedly, my work is not for ordinary citizens. This is shop talk for concerned people who really want to understand why the schools turned rotten, and how to make them healthy. I've been studying public schools for 30 years. I can explain all the weird cons, that is, the counterproductive theories and methods now littering every classroom.

Why did I get so involved? I was always fascinated by how stupid things had gotten and how the lies and deceptions were so obvious. Every traditional approach, which had worked for centuries, was suddenly thrown in the gutter. Starting in the 1930s, we had tens of millions of children who never even learn to read. Seriously, that should not be considered acceptable.

Let's Fix Education, my podcast, has gone three years without missing a Wednesday update. All episodes are about 600 words, less than a five-minute read. You'll learn why sight-words don't work, Constructivism is a hoax, and that almost every gimmick recommended by our ed school is worthless.

By way of credentials, I was an English Major at Princeton. I know what truth, beauty, and good education look like.

I'm also the author of eight novels; mere mainstream entertainment, you might say. But I would argue that solving endless aesthetic and intellectual questions is the essence of any good education, and it’s the best preparation for figuring out what the faux-experts are doing to American children.

Running parallel to my podcast is my book Saving K-12 which seems to be the easiest way to understand the problems in K-12. Most books have a product or idea to sell. I'm trying to explain how the gimmicks work.

So when I call myself America's Education Expert, am I joking? No, I'm serious. I'm calling attention to the fact that the official experts, typically the professors in control, are not themselves behaving like responsible experts. They have abandoned the battlefield to the enemy. Who you gonna call? Not these guys.

In addition to the lies and deceptions we find in K-12, what's particularly disappointing is that high-level movers and shakers, the billionaires, and public figures, don't seem to care. We need those people to get involved. They are certainly welcome to contact me. I'll explain everything that’s wrong and how we need to fix it.

Let's Fix Education is on Apple, Spotify, Buzzsprout, and many other places. Pick any episodes at random; sample anything that sounds interesting to you. NB: Nothing goes out of date. Why? Because the Education Establishment doesn't allow improvement!

The professors brag a lot about things that are nonexistent, for example, they promise to teach Critical Thinking and STEM subjects, but they don't tell the kids the most basic aspects of these things. Kids with no background or foundational information will not be able to advance. Basically, that's the curse imposed on almost all American students.
