Let's Fix Education / by Bruce Deitrick Price
Savvy, practical insights on where our Education Establishment went wrong and how most schools can be improved.LET'S FIX EDUCATION explains the many dysfunctional theories and methods operating within our schools. This podcast is intended for parents, teachers, and community leaders who want education reform.
Each week, LET'S FIX EDUCATION examines another problem in our public schools, such as: Constructivism. Learning styles. Sight-words. No memorization. Cooperative learning. Prior knowledge. Reform math. The dilution of knowledge. Common Core. Project-based learning. Student-centered, etc. In fact, there are DOZENS of counterproductive learning and teaching theories, all made worse by ideological motives.

EVERYTHING YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS BUT WERE TOO BUSY TO FIND OUT.
The answers are here, in a book titled: Saving K-12: What happened to our public schools? How do we fix them?.... And in a second book titled The Education Enigma.

PS: .Saving K-12, The Education Enigma
I recently found out that these books are listed on Walmart.com. Given that I write about exotic school problems such as sight-words and constructivism, that's a great compliment. I've always prided myself on clear straightforward writing intended for everyone.
Walmart's product description for The Education Enigma: "Price writes clearly and decisively. He explains history, ideology, dogma and deception. He makes many recommendations for how we can improve in the future. Bruce Price--author, artist, education activist--is your ideal guide to the dark side of American education."

Let's Fix Education explains to Americans why their schools are so bad. The people in charge prefer mediocrity because they are socialists of one kind or another. If people work together to promote real education, we'll have it.

Ladies and gentlemen…
EVERYTHING YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS BUT WERE TOO BUSY TO FIND OUT.
The answers are here, in a book titled: Saving K-12: What happened to our public schools? How do we fix them?... And in a second book titled The Education Enigma
Truth is, I enjoy explaining how far-left professors infiltrated our school system and turned some of the best schools in the world into some of the worst. Why did our Progressives, as they called themselves, want to do this and what strategies did they use?
The short answer is they are Marxists and they think everybody else should be a Marxist, or else. These egregious people have an extremely high opinion of themselves and that gives them cart blanche to do what they want with our country.
Saving K-12 presents 65 articles divided into 10 themes: Reading; Math; Weird Theories and Methods; Common Core; Historical Background; Guilty as Charged; Where Are Our Leaders; and What to Do Now. You can read the articles in any order and dip in wherever you want. This is pleasant reading about grim topics. If we don't save the public schools, we're not going to save much else.
Robert W. Sweet, Jr., long-time president of The National Right to Read Foundation, gave this review: "Bruce Price’s SAVING K-12 is a MUST read! It is precise, concise and powerful. Action is required…for the sake of our children, our grandchildren and the future of the American Republic!”

Saving K-12 is six years old but still hot as ever. How can that be? Doesn't everything change and go out of fashion? Well, that’s a peculiar thing about the land of K-12. Nothing changes! Nothing gets better. The Education Establishment has a lock on the school system.

The second book is titled The Education Enigma and it's about the fact that nothing can be improved. That's the enigma. Published in 2011, it's a smaller, cheaper book, with about 45 articles. Everything is still current, that's the extraordinary thing.

My two goals in writing about K-12 are to help parents protect their kids, and to force the left-wing bureaucrats to allow improvement. One of the great accomplishments of the bad educators is to keep everything so confused, ambiguous, sophistical, and jargon-ridden that no ordinary citizen has any idea what to do.
For one big example: Starting in the 1930s, the public schools dumped phonics. The new idea was called Whole Word. When everybody saw that it was garbage, the bosses introduced Whole Language and when everybody saw that was garbage, the bosses introduced Balanced Literacy. It’s the same scam: pretending to teach reading without phonics. This is why we have 50 million functional illiterates. Even the teachers don't know what's going on. Garbage by different names is still garbage.

Support Education Reform, that's the name for my whole reclamation project. It’s a free resource for parents and community leaders to use in understanding how best to fight the octopus, a.k.a. the Education Establishment.
